Fashion is a playground up until a certain age. But then you have to find your own signature and your own style.

Macella was founded by Viveka Mansukhani, a woman born with a love of clothes and fabrics.
As a child growing up in Hong Kong, Viveka often trailed her father into his favourite tailor’s shop and watched him choose cloth and get measured for new clothes. She would gaze wistfully at all the fabrics, wishing such a service was available to women too. The seed of an idea was planted.
After graduating from university in Canada, Viveka embarked on a career in shipping in Hong Kong which later took her to Singapore and Germany. Still not able to fit into off-the-rack clothes, the idea began to grow.
On returning to Hong Kong in 2004, Viveka directed the operations of men’s tailoring outfit Macomber, meeting with company’s fabric suppliers and the team of tailors on a daily basis. Viveka soon realised that time had stood still and most bespoke tailoring in Hong Kong still catered only to men. Women’s tailoring was often an afterthought and while some men’s tailors accommodated women, measurements were taken by a man which could be awkward, and the fit was often hit or miss. After years of painstaking research into how to achieve the perfect fit for the female silhouette, Macella was born.
With her twin daughters now studying overseas, Viveka spends her weekends pursuing her hobbies. You will find her hiking the hills of Hong Kong, curled up on the sofa reading a book, or cooking up a storm to share with friends.
